Noticeboard

The NHS have arranged several 'Protected Learning' days throughout the year. These days provide time for staff to complete mandatory training which is essential to maintain a safe and effective environment for patients. During these times the surgery will be closed.

Usually this learning time will take place over an afternoon, so in the mornings we will be open as usual.

The next scheduled learning time is on Tuesday 27th of February from 1330 until 1830. We will be open again as usual on the 28th.

Due to necessary changes in response to NHS initiatives surrounding online access, patients who use online access or patient services online may experience disruptions to their access. Please contact the surgery if your level of access changes.

We are unable to offer Covid vaccinations from the surgery as we are not part of a primary care network.

(To aid vaccine delivery in the pandemic vaccines were initially distributed to large centres only, and contracts were with Primary Care Network (PCN). We were hoping that this would change, and that we could have vaccines at the surgery this year but this has not happened. The Integrated Care Board is aware that this is a problem and have raised it as an issue with NHS England).

Please contact the National booking line on 119 or via the NHS website. We hear that Middleton Cheney and Moreton In Marsh Pharmacies seem to be the closest places to get the vaccine.

Repeat Prescriptions

To order Repeat Prescriptions:

  • 24-hour ordering line: 01295 780064
  • Drop your repeat slip into the post box
  • Ask at reception to be signed up for on-line ordering

If you collect your medicines from a pharmacy you will need to get your prescription to the pharmacy for processing. Some pharmacies supply pre-paid envelopes for this,  Bloxham and Peak pharmacies will collect your prescription from the surgery. Please allow adequate time when ordering, taking into account postal times.

Dispensary

We dispense medicines for the great majority of our patients. Repeat prescriptions may be collected during normal opening hours, but it would be appreciated if the hour between 1pm and 2pm could be avoided.

Please do try to allow at least 4 working days between ordering medication and collecting it. Your request may have to go the the doctor to be approved, then ordered from our wholesaler, delivered, and then dispensed, all of which takes time. At times medicines may be out of stock and we may have to try and source them from other pharmacies which adds to the time taken.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication may be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse for checks to ensure the prescribed medication is still appropriate and safe.

Please ensure that you book an appointment when asked or when you know it is due to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions. For example yearly for contraceptive pills , HRT, blood pressure and diabetes medication.
